Today, the newspaper La Repubblica talks about our study, which investigated the impact of Covid-19 on the sexual life of Italian couples. The number of participants of our survey was 1576, 1018 women and 558 men. We found that the number of sexual encounters per month dramatically decreased during the quarantine, with 35,7% of our sample declaring they had no sex during lockdown. The main reasons for the decrease in sexual frequency were: no privacy (43,2%) and lack of psychological stimuli (40,9%). However, 71,3% of our participants didn’t report a decrease in sexual desire, and 61,2% reported an increase in masturbation.
